Influenza Activity Increasing in Mesa County

MESA COUNTY, Colo.- Influenza activity continues to increase in the United States, as well as in Mesa County.
So far this season, Mesa County is reporting 17 hospitalizations from influenza.
As of Jan. 12, the state had reported 674 cases of people hospitalized,
with four children dying this season.
Mesa County Health officials want to remind residents its not too late to get a flu shot.
Mesa County Health Department is offering the following fast and convenient opportunities for adults to receive a flu shot:
Thursday, Jan. 17: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Mesa County Central Services Building, 200 South Spruce Street in Grand Junction.
Tuesday, Jan. 22: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Salvation Army, 1155 North 4th Street.
If residents aren't able to attend the two dates, the vaccine is available at the Mesa County Health Department and at the department's Fruita office, located at 215 N. Plum.
