Increase in Arrests During Halloween 'Heat Is On' Campaign

DENVER- Numbers released from the Heat Is On campaign during Halloween show an increase in people drinking and driving.

According to the Denver Post, the Colorado Department of Transportation reported that 564 drivers suspected of DUIs were arrested in Colorado throughout the period starting at 6 p.m. on Oct. 26 and ending 3 a.m. on Nov. 1.

The most arrests were in Denver, Colorado Springs and Aurora, which had 72, 46 and 42 respectively.

There was only one arrest in Mesa County.

There were also three suspected alcohol or drug-related crashes and three fatalities.
