GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A local program that sparks the minds of children across the Grand Valley is expanding.

The Grand Junction Imagination Library will be extending its efforts to nearly 2,424 children under the age of 5 who live in this zip code: 81504.

The children can now receive a brand new book every month until their fifth birthday at no cost to their family. Because of this new expansion, more than 6,000 children in Grand Junction qualify for these free novels.

"We would really like to thank the Lions Club and the Horizon Sunrise Rotary Club, who were crucial in donating funds to get our zip codes expanded,” said Lindsay Keller, board member of the Grand Junction Imagination Library.

Other area children include those who live in the zip codes of 81501, 81503, 81505 and 81506.

You can register your child with the Grand Junction Imagination Library at gjimaginationlibrary.org to receive the books.

Registration brochures are also available at the main branch of the Mesa County Library.
