DELTA COUNTY, Colo. - The name of the man killed in a motorcycle accident Saturday has been released.

The accident happened just before 6:45 p.m. on Highway 65, mile marker 4.5 in Delta County.

Officials with Colorado State Patrol say 60-year-old Christopher Sorensen of Delta was driving his motorcycle southbound on the highway behind a truck, when the truck slowed to avoid a deer in the road.

The motorcycle struck the back end of the truck and Sorensen was ejected. He was rushed to the hospital, where he passed away.

The driver of the truck, 31 year old Willis Olson of Cedaredge, had no injuries.

Alcohol and drugs are not considered factors in the crash, although official autopsy results are pending.
