GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Friday night was a record breaking night for the Grand Junction Art Center as they held their biggest community exhibit of the year.

Nearly 500 people turned out for the Art Center's 'First Friday' event to recognize local artists.

Art Center officials say they received a record number of entries that filled all the galleries in the center.

"We decided to take the whole building because the work was getting so great, the members were getting so ambitious so we just kept adding galleries and for two years the members have taken the whole building," said Camille Silverman, Executive Director of The Art Center.

'First Friday' events are free and open to the public every first Friday of the month.

Every month the center showcases new works from artists here in the Grand Valley.
