How the Debt Debate Affects Colorado

by KREX News Room
by Daniel Phillips

With all of the talk about the nation's debt issues many may be wondering how a U.S. default would affect them. Colorado Senator Michael Bennet released a county-by-county look at how much money Colorado would lose from federal funding.

If Congressional leaders can't reach a decision by their August 2nd deadline, $47 billion of federal funding that Colorado receives would be in jeopardy. Some of the programs in danger are Medicare and Medicaid, military benefits, student loans, and many others.

For Mesa County, this could be close to a million dollars in cuts; for Montrose, a bit under $300,000.

I say Waaaa,, Mesa, Delta, and Montrose Could have all had more than enough money if they hadn't shuttered all the Medical Marijuana Shops. The Tax revenue was a boon to all these Counties, however, their tight Conservative asses did them in.. Now all that's left is the necks crying in there beer! We don't know why we hate "Pot" we just do! let's run em out of town boys!!!!
