GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Candidate Dan Robinson for House District 55 says if he's elected he wants more funding for higher education.

Robinson says he wants more attention to be brought to getting students to continue into higher education, since Colorado ranks 49th for money put into education.

Robinson says he'd like to provide money to higher education from a $50,000 budget from a Youth Corrections facility.

"I think what we can begin to do is use some of that corrections money, redirect it to the front end of the problem, which is to address the needs of educational gaps that exist within kids," says Robinson.

Robinson says he wants the community to stop blaming others for school funding problems and look at where the community is at now

Robinson says it's important to look at current resources more equitably.
