Disgusted, Anonymous, you're both in denial of the facts here! Hostess made the decision to bankrupt this company over a year ago. The CEO's of this company made huge sum's of money and refused to pay it's workers a living wage, that's when the fight with the unions started. Obama care has nothing to do with the shuttering of this company, nothing! If the greedy CEO's would have restructured the pay for it's workers instead of getting filthy rich at the expense of it's workers Hostess would still be in business. But like others we have recently seen i.e. coal mines, and restaurant chains would rather hurt their employees to make a point than take a cut in CEO pay! This is outrageous they would stoop so low as to try to pin this on Obama and the cost of Obama care! I say good riddance to Hostess and I hope all the affected employees find other job's with honest employers!

"Lol" you are so wrong, having one of these bakeries in my town as well as a family member who works (worked now) there they made a decent good living wage. The issue is the Democrat Led Union wanted more and more that, with falling sales due to health conscience folks could not be met. The company fore-warned the employees not to strike or they would be forced to close. The Union told the employees they can not close, "It's against the law so strike and we will win our demands!" Well look, the Union Big Wigs were wrong yet again, forcing thousands on to unemployment where the rest of us working class are forced to pay for their healthcare and checks. Once again Obamanomics at their best - FAILURE ! And the President, Congress & Senate are not required to take or pay for Obamacare out of their paychecks!

Norhern New England, like I said if the CEO's would bend just a little and take a drop in their pay this could have been avoided! Say want you want about it being OUR presidents fault but the facts remain greedy CEO's and company elite did this not the people striking for a better living wage. Remember who pulled this country out of the great depression, not CEO's not big companies it was the unions and the Government that forced the filthy rich to pay up! They made the rich do good with their money,allowing the president at that time to create social security, and unemployment benefits using the rich folks money till the country could turn itself around! Seems you have forgotten some history here! If you are middle class today you can thank the unions for getting you there!

You're wasting your breath, lol. The neo-conservative mentality requires a devil in order to function, and right now that devil is Barack Obama. The simple fact is that the dietary choices of Americans have changed and the company did not diversify its business in response. Remember the cigarette companies? They saw the writing on the wall and invested in other markets and pursued other companies that vended other products. They anticipated the needs of a changing market. The management of Hostess did not. That is why they failed. Neocons need to shut up so they don't cost us another election.

Lol, why are you so upset one CEO was "greedy" yet applaud an entire political party that is hell-bent on destroying a nations economy? Why do you hate America so much that you would gladly see it go the way of the Weimar Republic? The facts are the facts and Obummercare is going to create an economic destruction that will make any prior recession seem tame.

Ok, hostess went into bankruptcy in 2004 and came out in 2009. During this time the employees took a large pay cut. The company comes back again and ask the employees to take a pay cut. The employees stand up with the union and say NO, it is not worth it. And the failure of hostess is President Obama fault. smh
