GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- HopeWest receives some financial help which will allow them to continue to provide services to those seriously ill or grieving.
The organization recently was awarded a $50,000 medical grant from COPIC.
They will use the money to expand their palliative care services, and merge with Saint Mary’s to offer more in-depth help. It’s a new partnership officials say will help those who can't afford care due to either Medicare or Medicaid problems.
“We are really excited because this grant really makes possible the launching of this new project with Saint Mary’s, that it expands palliative care beyond people in their own homes to the hospital,” said Christy Whitney, CEO of HopeWest.
The new program will help the company offer more physician and nursing assistance, as well as social work and counseling.
