GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- FirstLight, a new home care program, is offering help from caregivers to anyone in need.

They celebrated opening up their second office inside Mesa View Independent Senior Living Community Saturday afternoon.

FirstLight offers services to those who may only need 30 minutes of help, to folks who need 24-hour care.

The program is new to the valley and is looking to help new moms, elderly persons, and those recovering from surgery.

"The need in this community is great. As the baby boomers age and we as humans age, we're all a bit chronologically gifted, and as we continue to be more and more so, we need help," said Briana Grossnickle, regional director.

Grossnickle says the most common way folks get checked into a hospital is from over or under medicating.

FirstLight offers new technology that can help track when medication needs to be taken, and offers patients health record online to family members out of state.
