Holiday House Wraps Up Decades Long Run On Sour Note

DENVER An annual lighting tradition running for decades in Denver will be pulled for good and the celebration has a bit of a sour ending.

Herman Dinges has been lighting up the holidays for decades, but on Saturday night, someone broke into his garage stealing a television and a bucket full of donations for the kids at the Children's Hospital.

"The first thing I noticed was that the Children's hospital money was gone and the garage door was wide open. I turned around and my TV was gone, too", explained Dinges.

Dinges' house has become a Christmas time destination for many in the Denver metro area.

A fan of the house donated $5,000 to Children’s, in honor of Dinges' final year of the lights.

Fortunately, the generous check was not in the stolen bucket.
