GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Over this Labor Day weekend, Hilltop is holding their inaugural Western Colorado Classic Auto event.
The cornerstone of the weekend is their Western Colorado Classic at Canyon View Park.
The event is to help fundraise for Hilltop, which has 26 programs that help thousands of residents here in the Grand Valley.
Hilltop has been a part of the community for nearly 65 years and officials say, over the last few years, both federal and state funding has decrease tremendously for non-profits.
“We rely strictly on independent donations and grants for our domestic violence programs,” said Sarah Catlin, event coordinator. “So it’s very important for us to continue these programs and help the community. Whether its little kids, teenagers, seniors, our programs span a person's life.”
Officials expect to have a total of 350 cars at the event, some of which came all the way from Texas and New Mexico.
The even will continue on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
