Highway 24 Open Following Mudslide

by KREX News Room
by Christina Marrazza

CASCADE, Colo.- Highway 24 is now open again after crews worked to clear the road after a mudslide.

Heavy rain and flooding caused the mudslide at mile marker 292 near Cascade.

Both directions of the road were closed to traffic at Cave of the Winds.

Officials say the danger of flash flooding is enhanced by the landscape changes caused by the Waldo Canyon Fire.
