Helicopter Rescue at Vega State Park

MESA, Colo.-One woman is in the hospital after a helicopter rescue at Vega State Park.

Officials tell NewsChannel 5 that a woman and a man were riding a four-wheeler Saturday afternoon on Basalt Creek Trail in the Vega Reservoir, when they went over an embankment.

After several hours of help from state park rangers and search and rescue crews, CareFlight was able to transport the woman out of the area and to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The unidentified man sustained minor injuries.
