Heather Jensen Waives Preliminary Trial
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The Grand Valley woman accused of criminal negligent homicide and child abuse briefly returned to court Wednesday afternoon. Heather Jensen appeared at the Mesa County Justice Center for her preliminary hearing. Before the judge could decide if there was probable cause to move the case forward, Jensen and her attorney chose to waive the hearing. Judge Valerie Robison explained to Jensen that once she chooses to waive the preliminary trial, she has no opportunity to change her mind. Jensen's next appearance will come on May 30th for her arraignment. Authorities say back in November of 2012, Jensen's two young sons died of hyperthermia after being left in a running vehicle on the Grand Mesa. This is Jensen's first appearance in a Mesa County courtroom since early April, where she was denied a reduction in her bond.
