Hearing on Proposed New Drilling Rules Continues

by KREX News Room
by Kristina Kuestner

DENVER (AP)- Colorado oil and natural gas regulators continued a three-day hearing Tuesday to consider proposed new drilling rules.

The panel considered a proposal to keep drilling at least 500 feet from homes.

On Monday, the commission approved rules to require energy companies to do groundwater sampling both before and after they drill.

Industry officials and environmental groups aren't pleased with the sampling rules. Some say they're too lean while others say they're too much.

The hearing will conclude Wednesday.

Well, the really important thing is that all that nasty energy extraction was ran off and an old hack democrat governor gets to keep his cush no-show position with a Denver university. That is all that matters, nothing else.
