Fire Burns Through Hundreds of Bales of Hay

MESA COUNTY, Colo.- A late night fire destroyed hundreds of bales of hay and continued to burn Thursday morning.

It started around midnight at 1050 22 Road, between J and K roads near Fruita.

Officials say 240 bales of hay caught fire.

Initial reports were that a structure was involved, but the fire did not spread to any building.

Lower Valley Fire responded and fire officials remained on scene throughout the night.

No injuries have been reported and the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation.
