Gyms Prepare For Influx

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The New Year has arrived and experts say the most popular resolution is to get in shape.

Gyms around the area are saying they've seen an influx of people signing up for memberships since the new year.

Anytime Fitness, on Highway 50 says since Jan. 1, they've seen more than 20 people sign up for memberships.

They say another popular trend is having a trainer help to keep those new year's resolutions.

"It's good to make a commitment, you know, to do it for a long time. It doesn't happen overnight and people kind of seem to get impatient when it comes to fitness. Don't make excuses, just get in here and do it. It's not going to get easier. A lot of people like to put it off until the
beginning of the new year but in all reality it's the same thing. It's going to be hard for you to start Monday, and it's going to be hard to start Tuesday. So get started, and get in here and get in shape," said Kevin Oney, personal trainer at Anytime Fitness.

Anytime Fitness has a special going on which includes two free months of tanning, four sessions with a trainer costing $99 and a zero enrollment fee.

Some other gyms that have a special include Crossroads Fitness and Gold's Gym.

Crossroads has a zero enrollment free with a free first month if a 24 month contract is signed.

Gold's Gym has a special of $1 enrollment fee and other deals they wouldn't specify on.
