Groups Try to Limit Testimony at Oil, Gas Hearings

DENVER - Groups representing Colorado's oil and gas industry, farmers, ranchers and homebuilders are trying to block people who live near drilling sites from testifying at state rulemaking hearings next week.

The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission is holding the hearings starting Monday on new proposed drilling rules.

Several Coloradans who live near rigs have submitted written testimony outlining their health problems, with the residents and their supporters saying they have a right to be heard. But the Colorado Oil & Gas Association and others say some of the testimony should be tossed because they represent non-expert medical opinions or hearsay.

Colorado Department of Natural Resources spokesman Todd Hartman tells The Daily Sentinel the commission will likely decide Monday whether to block the residents' testimony.

I am pro energy extraction, however these residents have the right to be heard. I believe there opinions are much more valid than any so-called "expert" with the Healthcare/Marxism complex. The fiasco of Obummercare has proven that these "experts" are mere chattel to be bought and sold, nothing more.

It seems that those who work on the rigs should be better witnesses as to health problems. They work right in the face of whatever health problems there are that might be represented. They do that at far less than some who might be thinking they should get some vast amount of compensation for living where they do. One has to wonder how much coaching has been going on but, yes, let them be heard. Emotionalism goes a long way with liberal thinking.

The idiots that work on the rigs have signed non-disclosure statements, and can't say a word. The cancer rates in Parachute, Battlement Mesa, Rifle, Silt and New Castle have quadrupled in the last 10 years. How about that 10 million dollar hazmat wing built onto the Rifle Hospital for bad scenarios that take place on or around the rigs? How about all the poisoned aquifers in Garfield County? How about all of deaths of humans, animals and the desecration of the land in Garfield County? How about the disappearance of the deer, elk, and may others in Garfield County? How about the corruption in Garfield and Mesa Counties? Disgusting. Wait 'til it's in your back yard, then you'll know what it's all about!

Um I'm not sure if you actually read my post but I was in favor of the residents testifying. Unlike you, I am able to drop the partisan posture when common sense prevails. How about dropping the rhetoric and let the facts come out whatever they may be?

At frac'ing kills, how about some facts. For your information, it is in our back yards.
