GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - A new report was released Thursday by Environment Colorado and along with it, the group announces a very big goal.
Members met today with city and community leaders to challenge Colorado to build one million solar roofs by the year 2030.
Officials with the group said if any state could benefit from solar energy, it's Colorado.
"Colorado is one of the sunniest states in the United States behind California who is the solar leader. States like New Jersey and even countries like Germany have huge solar systems in place and they don't even have as much sunshine as we do," said Lindsey Wilson with Environment Colorado.
Officials with Environment Colorado hope to use the study to influence state policy to incentivize the use of solar for residential and commercial use.
