Greenwood Village Police Investigate Woman's Death

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. (AP) - Greenwood Village police say a former co-worker of a woman who was fatally shot in an apartment building garage is the only suspect in her death.

Police had wanted to talk to 51-year-old Robert Lewis after 25-year-old Emily Weikert was killed Thursday morning. Lewis was recently fired after harassing Weikert at work. SWAT team officers who entered his apartment Thursday evening found him dead with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Police spokeswoman Crystal Dean tells The Denver Post the evidence points to Lewis as the only suspect in the slaying. Police were analyzing whether the bullets that killed Weikert match the one Lewis used to kill himself.

Weikert and Lewis worked in Greenwood Village at CoBank, which specializes in agribusiness lending.
