Local Group Encourages Residents and Businesses to Think Green

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A recently founded group in Grand Junction is celebrating a recent business partnership focused on improving the Grand Valley's environment.
Grand Junction Green Drinks hosted its third event this evening to highlight the new partnership between Mesa County and Edgewater Brewery.
Edgewater Brewery typically loses money disposing excess brewing liquid properly at the wastewater treatment facility.
Mesa County's Organic Materials Composting Facility will now be re-using the liquid rich in yeast and sugar to enhance compost production and save money.
Green Drinks held a casual gathering Wednesday evening with members of the community at Edgewater Brewery to celebrate the partnership and discuss other ideas to improve the Grand Valley's
The international organization started in 1989 in England to bring people together in a casual setting and discuss environmental issues in local communities.
The Grand Junction chapter of Green Drinks began in 2010, and hopes to host gatherings once a month in the future.
