GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A judge did not go easy on 45-year-old Deone Marie Graham after she pleaded guilty last month to poisoning her husband in the spring of 2012.

According to an arrest affidavit, Graham on one occasion poisoned her husband's whiskey with pharmaceutical drugs with the hope that he would overdose and die.

Before Judge Flynn gave Graham her sentence, he said Graham's crimes were "committed in a very cold way" and "done by revenge and greed."

Judge Flynn ordered Graham to serve a total of 30 years in prison and an additional eight years of parole.

This is the maximum amount of prison time listed on Graham's plea agreement.

Graham has 49 days to appeal the sentence.
