Grand Junction VA Holds Drive-Thru Flu Clinic

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Several local veterans took the opportunity on Tuesday to receive free flu shots.

The Grand Junction VA held its third annual drive-thru flu clinic in the parking lot of their facility.

Officials from the VA say because they serve specific community members who have a lot of conditions from their military service, it’s important for veterans to know assistance is available to them.

“It’s really good to get them immunized to not only protect themselves from the flu, but also the people they live with and the other patients they come in contact with in the hospital,” said Rebecca Hewett, LPN at the Grand Junction VA.

If you missed out on the opportunity, the center’s medical clinic will be open all flu season from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

You don’t have to be enrolled with the Grand Junction VA, but you must bring proof of military service.
