GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Purple push and purple pride is what a lot of residents were chanting about Friday at the Grand Junction Rockies first playoff game.

They played against Ogden. Unfortunately the Rockies lost in extra innings, but the playoff series are best out of three.

The day was slated Grand Junction Rockies Day, and many people wore purple as they cheered for the team.

Ray says Friday was going to be Grand Junction Rockies Day whether or not the team made it to the playoffs. "We're very excited. This is a dream come true and really this is the combination of a lot of hard work put forth by our front office and with our baseball team. This is what you dream about, this is what you hope for," said Tim Ray, general manager of the Grand Junction Rockies.

Officials say this season brought in 100,000 fans.

Ray says he is very proud of the players and all of the support brought by the fans.
