Grand Junction, Durango Courthouses Will Remain Open

by KREX News Room
by Kristina Kuestner

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Sen. Mark Udall was pleased to announce Wednesday that the federal courthouse in Grand Junction will remain open despite recent closure possibilities.

The government recently created a list of 60 federal buildings to potentially close in order to save money; the list included Grand Junction and Durango.

Udall sent a letter in March to U.S. District Court Judge Michael Ponsor, chairman of the Committee on Space and Facilities, stating that it would be detrimental to the area, as well as waste taxpayer funds already spent on Grand Junction's courthouse specific renovations.

Both Grand Junction and Durango were saved.

Udall? Didn't he vote yes on the Obummercare travesty that was snuck through under cover of darkness and holiday on Christmas Eve, 2009?
