Grammy-Nominated Pianist Performs at CMU

by John Dias

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A Grammy-nominated pianist stopped in town Saturday to perform at Colorado Mesa University.

It was David Lanz’s first time appearing in Grand Junction. He played some of his classics like "Return to the Heart" and "A White Shade of Pale."

The musician promised the evening would be extra special because he would introduce his brand new 25th anniversary edition of “Cristofori’s Dream Re-Envisioned.”

“A lot of my music is sensitive because it comes from a very sensitive place,” said Lanz. “But I don't want to bum people out. I like to make them cry, but then I like to make them laugh. We are trying to have a good time.”

Tickets were available at the door for $25.
