MONTEZUMA COUNTY, Colo.- On Saturday Gov. John Hickenlooper signed a disaster declaration for a wildfire burning in Montezuma County.

This makes resources available to pay for fire suppression, response and recovery related to the Roatcap Fire, which is burning between Cortez and Dolores.

At last report those flames had reached nearly 400 acres with 70 percent containment.

Authorities say the fire spread from a trash burn on private land.

A Dolores resident, 53-year-old Roger Stratton, is accused of unintentionally starting the fire; he will be charged with fourth-degree arson.
