GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo.- The city of Glenwood Springs wants to alleviate its downtown parking problem.

According to the Glenwood Springs Post Independent, the city has contracted with Walker Parking Consultants to do an updated parking study and develop a new, long-term strategic parking plan.

Between two new projects, including a two-level city parking garage opening in winter and the new Glenwood Springs Branch Library/ Colorado Mountain College building set for next summer, 150 new parking spaces will be added.

The study will focus on how those projects might affect parking in other parts of downtown.

The area to be surveyed includes areas both north and south of the Colorado River.
