GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The Two Rivers Convention Center was full of rocks and gems glistening on display Sunday.

The Grand Junction Gem and Mineral Cub held its 65th annual Gem and Mineral Show, showcasing unique rocks, jewelery and fossils that have been created and collected.

Some items were found locally, while others were found out of the country.

"Grand Junction is really the center of finding a lot of neat things that you can go find, like petrified wood out toward Utah," said Mel Bersch, president of the Grand Junction Gem and Mineral Club.

Members of the club say they estimated around 3,000 people in attendance.

All the money collected will go toward the Gem and Mineral Club.

A group within the club also collects money to give away three scholarships to Colorado Mesa University students each year.
