GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo.- The Garfield County Sheriff's Office recently recognized one of its own.

Deputy Dave Hatch was recognized with one of the highest honors, the esteemed Lifesaving Award.

On April 12, Deputy Hatch resuscitated a 22-day-old infant after the baby had stopped breathing.

After a series of chest compressions, Deputy Hatch was able to get the baby's eyes open.

From there, he turned the baby over to EMS workers, who rushed the infant to the hospital.

Hatch accepted his medallion and pin and humbly stated, "I did not do anything that any one of our deputies wouldn't’t have done themselves".
