GVT Submits Plans to City for New West Transfer Facility

by KREX News Room

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- This week Grand Valley Transit submitted a major site plan review to the city of Grand Junction for the new West Transfer Facility.

The new transfer station will be located at 612 24 1/2 Road. The current one is at the Mesa County Mall.

The proposed development includes a new building, office, lobby space, up to six bus transfer spots and a park-and-ride lot.

In the next few weeks, up to 14 different city department and utility companies will review the application.

No public hearing is required for approval of the application, so officials welcome the public's comments.

The community can learn more about the new transfer station by visiting www.gvt.mesacounty.us.

People can contact Scott Peterson via email or phone with any comments. Peterson is the senior planner for the city of Grand Junction.

His email address is scottp@gjcity.org and his phone number is 970-244-1447.

The public has until Oct. 26 to submit any comments.
