GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The Grand Junction Fire Department's "Pink October" fundraiser turned out to be a successful one for the group.

The fire department sold nearly 800 shirts and will be donating $9,109.20 to the Delaney Donates Foundation.

The Grand Junction Fire Department joined more than 900 fire departments and emergency agencies across the country to raise cancer awareness by wearing special pink uniform T's; they also sold separate limited-edition pink T-shirts to the public.

The Grand Junction Fire Department plans on making this an annual event.
