GJ Robbery Suspect Hears Charges Against Him

James Rucker is accused in the armed robbery of a Grand Junction gas station.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - A man accused in the armed robbery of a Grand Junction business hears the formal charges against him.

30-year-old James Rucker of Grand Junction appeared in a Mesa County courtroom on Tuesday morning.

He's facing a total of seven counts, five of them felonies. They include robbery, menacing, and menacing a victim with a deadly weapon.

Authorities say Rucker was responsible for an early-morning robbery on February 16th at the Bradley Sinclair gas station on North Avenue.

Officials say the suspect entered the business, showed a handgun and demanded money.

Rucker was arrested four days later in the 1700 block of North Avenue. Police say he was carrying a handgun and wearing clothing that matched witness descriptions from the robbery.

James Rucker will be back in court on March 19th.
