GJ Christmas Tree Permits on Sale

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Permits for cutting Christmas trees on certain Grand Junction Bureau of Land Management lands are now for sale.

Permits are $10 per tree and may be purchased at the Grand Junction Field Office, at 2815 H Road, Monday through Friday.

All areas will require parking along the road, walking in and carrying the tree out.

Pinyon pine and junipers are the only types of tree that may be cut.

The designated areas are Dominguez/ Farmers Canyon (Uncompahgre Plateau), Gateway, Tom's Canyon and 5.7 Road and 8.4 Road near the Colorado National Monument area (Glade Park), John Brown Canyon near Gateway and Lands End Road near Grand Junction.

BLM officials say the areas with the largest selection of trees are Gateway and Farmers Canyon.
