GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Do you ever wonder what happens before you turn the lights on?

The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce held a briefing Wednesday morning, to discuss a variety of topics concerning the energy industry and how is affects our area.

Officials say it’s vital for business owners to be aware of this.

“If they understand where their energy comes from, then they understand what issues on the Western Slope that will affect energy as it is delivered to the community,” said Fred Eggleston, of Xcel Energy. “They also can anticipate the changing of prices in energy.”

As the chamber tries to get more businesses into the valley, Eggleston says it will help them determine how well they're prepared.
