Future 'Up in the Air' For Garfield County Air Show

by KREX News Room
by Kristina Kuestner

GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo.- The popular Garfield County Air Show in Rifle may become an every-other-year event.

According to the Post Independent, Garfield County Commissioners are looking into removing the quarter-million dollar event from the 2013 budget.

The air show was one of several cuts proposed in a recent round of budget talks.

The air show took place this past July at the Garfield County Regional Airport in Rifle for a second straight year following a one-year hiatus in 2010.

Garfield County Commissioners won't make a final decision until Dec. 10.
