Fruita's Sweet Heart 5k

by KREX News Room

GRAND JUNCTION- Hundreds of people woke up ready to excerise Saturday morning in Fruita. The Sweet Heart 5k run and 10k walk turned competitive, while some runners chose to enter the "Sweet Heart Category." The categories consisted of combining the runners times with a loved one, to compete against other teams.

The 5k run cost $20 and the 10k run cost $25, and offered food in the hospitality room after the race. The first 400 people who registered received Loki brand running gloves, and the overall champs won custom sock-guy arm warmers.
