FRUITA, Colo.- The Fruita Fall Festival is something residents look forward to throughout the year, and the 98th annual festival brought back the tradition.

Fruita was filled to capacity as people watched the parade, rode ponies, and participated in contests. "Each one gets better and better, it's a tradition in Fruita, you don't miss it," said Mary Clawson, resident.

With the festival bringing in hundreds of people, each person has their own reason for attending. "I came for the pony rides and the rodeo tonight," said Brianna Harris. "Everybody enjoys coming out here and seeing family and friends, and all the new people who have come into town," said Clawson. "It just a great time of the year, and you want to be outside, the weather is perfect," said Martina Peterson.

The festival is an opportunity where one can get hand made jewelry, ride the ferris wheel, or get a glitter tattoo; all while catching up with family and friends. "It's just like a big tight knit community and you know everybody. It's nice to hang out and see everybody again," said Harris.

Officials say they expect nearly 50,000 people to attend throughout the weekend.
