Downtown Fruita Glitters With Cheer

by KREX News Room

FRUITA, Colo.- Fruita sparkled all down Main Street for their annual parade of lights Saturday night.

Hundreds of people fled downtown Fruita to see all the floats as they get in the holiday spirit.

The event also brought out Fruita 8/9 School's softball team to fundraise for nationals.

"We're out here selling hot chocolate, coffee, and treats during the parade of lights," said Olivia Bratt, member of the softball team.

The team said they sold a lot of baked goods, especially once it got colder.

Many residents fled to near by restaurants once the parade was over.

Appreciate the coverage of our little town but not sure about using the term "fled" downtown. I don't think anyone "fled" downtown for the lights.
