GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Several student athletes from Colorado Mesa University made a special delivery to Community Hospital Wednesday afternoon.

The CMU Student Athlete Advisory Committee created 12 hand-tied fleece quilts and donated them to use for patients visiting the emergency room.

"Anything that will help warm them up, especially something that's hand made and donated from the community, just means a lot and it makes it easier for the parents, makes it easier for the patients and makes it easier for us too," said Dr. Marc Breen.

This was part of many community outreach activities the committee is involved in.

E.R. officials say there are plenty of patients who will benefit from the gifts.
