GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - A new conservative group is looking to gather more members to help make change in the community.
The group is called the Freedom Colorado Organization and say they're looking to get back to the grassroots efforts of making change locally before moving to the state or national level.
"We have so many problems in this country. As a nation we are spending too much money and we're not bringing in enough and our Republican friends, some of them in Washington, seem to want to compromise and raise taxes as opposed to cut spending, we can't afford that anymore," said Kevin McCarney, Chairman for Freedom Colorado.
On March 14 the organization will be holding a City Council candidate forum at the Grand Junction City Hall.
On April 13 they will be holding a freedom rally in Lincoln Park.
