Free Breast Cancer Tattoo Removal
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. On Friday, many breast cancer survivors will be “Declaring their Freedom” for the month of October, by getting their radiation tattoos removed. Mountain West Dermatology is starting its exclusive program called, Breast Cancer Therapy Tattoo Removal Program this is in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The tattoo is removed by a laser and is free for all breast cancer survivors but first they must get an approval from their oncologist. Officials say the removing of the tattoo brings a sense of freedom to the patient. "It helps the survivors feel like their getting a fresh start. That they've beaten this cancer that they had and now they are moving forward in their life and it just helps them to have a fresh start,” said Amey Collazo of Mountain West Dermatology. Organizers say the program is scheduled for the whole month of October. Dermatologists say the laser removal can take about two-minutes.
