Foster Grandparents Wanted in Grand Junction

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- If you have some extra time on your hands the St. Mary's Foster Grandparent Program could use your help.

To be a foster grandparent you have to be 55 years old or older and be able to spend 15 to 30 hours a week mentoring local children in need.

Foster grandparents are in high demand and program organizers are hosting a volunteer event Tuesday from 9 a.m. until noon. It's at Connection Church located at 402 Grand Ave. in Grand Junction.

Anyone interested can stop by for some refreshments and information about what it means to be a foster grand parent.
