Forecasters Hoping For Wet March Amidst Drought Concerns

by KREX News Room
by Jordan Sherman

DENVER- State climatologists are hoping for a series of storms or one big storm, like the blizzard of 2003, to improve conditions along the Front Range and Eastern plans.

March is traditionally a wet month for Colorado, however, last year conditions dried out and with warm temperatures.

Officials say March precipitation is key because the cooler weather helps moisture penetrate the ground and slows evaporation.

This week's series of storms benefited any areas that got at least 7 inches of snow, the equivalent of about an inch of water.

Instead of hoping for a storm, (how is this news?) Maybe they should try a Rain Dance!!
