Flames From Fireplace Threaten Home

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Just before 8:30 a.m. Sunday, the Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a report of smoke in a residence at 176 Little Park Drive that had seven units and 21 people living there.

Authorities found smoke in the home and high temperatures around the fireplace area.

They were able to contain the flames quickly and stop the spread to the rest of the home.

Two people and two dogs were home at the time, although no injuries were reported.

The fire damage is considered moderate.

The cause is still under investigation.
