DURANGO, Colo. - Michelle Obama is returning to Colorado for events next week.

President Barack Obama's campaign says the first lady is scheduled to speak to supporters at Fort Lewis College in Durango on Wednesday.

Michelle Obama will speak with grassroots supporters at Whalen Gymnasium.

The gymnasium will open its doors at 2:15 p.m. with the first lady scheduled to speak around 5 p.m.

She also is scheduled to speak at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Thursday.

Colorado is considered a battleground state.

This year there have been multiple visits from Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, his wife, as well as the Obamas.

Early voting in Colorado starts Oct. 22.
