GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Mesa County students now have a brand new way to look for jobs, in the comfort of their own home.

The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce and the Mesa County Workforce Center have sponsored the event which is an entire job fair in a virtual convention center.

Students are able to use interactive audio and visual elements to learn more about applying for jobs and hear presentations from local manufacturing businesses.

"[Students] are texting and they're on their computers and their smart phones and their iPads all the time so this is a way to actually use the media that they're comfortable with and do some career exploration," said Diane Schwenke with the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce.

This career fair will continue until Midnight Tuesday morning, to check it out, visit: www.ConnectingColorado.com and register as a job seeker.

Along with other businesses, there will be recorded presentations from Munro Pump and Lewis Engineering.

Officials with the Chamber of Commerce say they plan on doing similar virtual job fairs in the future that explore other industries.

It is appropriate to have a virtual job fair as their are virtually no jobs.
