GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A fire destroys a Grand Junction home Thursday evening.
Grand Junction fire crews received a call from a neighbor about a fire at 2972 Parkway Drive at 6:43 p.m.
Officials say eight units and 17 personnel responded to the scene.
Crews were able to get there soon after the fire broke out before nearby structures were damaged.
"A couple of homes on either side were threatened by the fire, but they were able to keep the fire out of any other homes. They did a nice job of knocking down the fire pretty quickly," explained Mike Page, the public information officer for Grand Junction Fire Department.
Officials say the single wide trailer home was unoccupied. Owners were working in the structure Thursday to get it ready for rent, but were not at the location when the fire occurred.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
