GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Fire officials from the Mesa County Fire Chief’s Association met Tuesday night to discuss how fire operations can be improved.

Officials from ten of the 11 fire departments in Mesa County will gather over the course of three meetings that members of the public are invited to attend. “We’d like to get some input from the public,” said Frank Cavaliere of the MCFCA. “That’s why we’re having three public meetings so that we can get the public’s view of the fire service and medical services in Mesa County.”

The next meeting will be held July 24 at the Palisade Community Center at 120 W. Eighth Street from 7-9 p.m.

Officials say after the three meetings, a final presentation will be held in September.

Correction: There are 12 Fire Authorities in Mesa County not 11. East Orchard Mesa Fire Department is small but does exist
